We are so pleased to welcome Dr Christienna Fryar as the new CEO of Mary Seacole House.

Christienna brings not only a wealth of expertise from a career in academia focused on Black British History, but also an unwavering commitment to racial justice.

The team and trustees are so excited to have her lead us into the next chapter, after a period of transition led by our brilliant interim co-CEOs, Dawn Morris and Dawn Tolcher.

Mary Seacole House has always strived to provide a vital lifeline for Liverpool’s Black, Asian, racialised and migrant communities. We look forward to building on that legacy with Christienna at the helm, and our community at the centre.

“I’m delighted to join Mary Seacole House as their new CEO. Mary Seacole House has been a beacon in L8 and Liverpool for more than 30 years, and the need for their vital services only increases. I’m honoured to pick up the charge laid down by the Black women who founded this wonderful organisation and by Mary Seacole herself.”
