Classes including chair based exercises and active bingo ran for 6 weeks after the successful Wellness Day event thanks to funding from LCVS (Community Impact Fund) we were able to facilitate the sessions ran by Healthiness Ltd. Classes were completely free and open to all, also thanks to Kuumba Imani Millennium Centre we were able to use their community room to hold classes in. This gave us more participation from our own service users as we held the classes on a Wednesday morning before our weekly men & women’s group went on their day out so it was much more convenient for many of them to join in and give it a go as they were already in the building for a very well established group. The physical and social impact of these classes was evident after the first taster session, members expressed their excitement and looked forward to them each week. The classes were very successful, we had a total of 45 attendees over the 6-week period. Throughout the sessions our youngest attendee was 22 and our oldest was 94!!
