Day Centre - Having the support and company of other women who have been through or are going through similar experiences can be beneficial to the individual.

Women's Group

Why have a Women's Group?

The mental distress experienced by women is in most cases different to that experienced by men.

This is sometimes due to the way in which women are treated and the many restrictions society imposes on them.

Having the support and company of other women who have been through or are going through similar experiences can be beneficial to the individual. The women's group is held once a month. The women meet mainly in the centre but sometimes other venues are used. Group activities are dependant on the women.

The Women's Group continued to meet on a regular basis and a trip was planned to Scotland for a week in September last year. The holiday was a great success. We visited Edinburgh, Gretna Green, the seaside and Tesco's (the largest Tesco store ever seen) which we went to every night. Hence to say members thoroughly enjoyed themselves and are looking forward to the next holiday.

The year has proved an enjoyable one. Hope next year is just as enjoyable.
