Whats on offer?

Mary Seacole House
is a place where people with diverse social and cultural backgrounds can come together in a warm and relaxing environment.

Staff are at hand to offer support, advice and in both practical as well as emotional matters. If you are finding it hard to cope or want someone to confide in or if it is a case of reading assistance to sort out bills, housing matters or other welfare related matters then we are here to help. We also provide various training courses for our members, which include: Basic food hygiene, basic health and safety, fire safety etc. We also liase closely with Liverpool Community College tutors, in order to meet the educational needs of our members.

Activity Groups

Arts and Crafts Exhibition

In collaboration with Michelle Navarro, members produced a series of paintings and craftwork based upon black people and cultures that they aspire to. The exhibition was a great success and the feedback from the event was very empowering for them. Due to the demand to purchase pieces of the artwork it was decided that we would auction the artwork at our AGM. All members from both both Groups helped with the event and they were very excited and proud at what they had achieved. Both events had a great impact on not only our members' lives, but mine as well.

Aromatherapy & Massage

Mary Seacole House offers Massage and Aromatherapy as part of its Holistic approach to good mental health.

Aromatherapy is the use of 'essential oils', plant essence, to aid the healing process. The oils work effectively not only on the physical but also on the emotional, intellectual and spiritual well being.

Combined with massage, it is a deeply soothing and relaxing experience that should not be missed.

Auricular Acupuncture

5 point Ear Acupuncture

This is a treatment everyone can have, it has a calming, balancing effect on the body. It helps with sleep, appetite and general well being.

Pool Team

The Pool team have played some Great games this year and we have travelled all over the City playing various teams at other day centres as well as hosting home games.

Unfortunately the team were not as successful this year as they have been in the past, but we have to let others win every now and again.
